The basics
Lotto 6/49 is one of Canada's two national lotteries, operated by the ILC. Tickets cost $3 per play, which includes your main selection and a Guaranteed Prize Draw number. Draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday evening.
How to play
Choose 6 numbers from 1–49. During the draw, 6 main numbers plus a bonus number are drawn. The bonus number is used to determine second-prize winners (5 matches + bonus).
The Guaranteed Prize Draw
Every Lotto 6/49 ticket includes a unique 10-digit Guaranteed Prize Draw number printed at the bottom. One of these numbers is drawn each week to win $1 million guaranteed — separate from the main jackpot. This gives every single ticket holder a chance at a million dollars regardless of how their numbers perform.
